- Is ICT a good basis to become a good embedded software engineer? By efficient_pinguin Last Updated January 14, 2019 19:05 PM -1 Votes 6 Views I'd like to get a job as an embedded software engineer, I like electrical engineering but I love programming so I figure embedded software is a nice mix between the 2.
- It is possible to get hired with an associate's degree or even with nothing but self-taught experience. Pursuing this route, you should have a strong collection of completed and functional projects demonstrating your skills on a website like Github. You can also pursue open source projects to contribute fixes and new features to in case you don't have a concept of your own. Open source means that the code (source) for a piece of software is publicly viewable (open). Often, this allows anyone to submit code to a project, pending approval of the project maintainers. Finding an open source project with a welcoming community of developers can greatly accelerate your skills after you've established a baseline skillset.
Software Engineer
5 years agoSo, I have a previous major in Japanese, although i feel this only qualifies me for 'limited business proficiency', and I want to make the move to Japan for various reasons. I have pretty good grades at the second year of my computer engineering degree, though we don't use GPA here, they're mostly A's with a few B's here and there. I'm also a native speaker of Norwegian.
Now, my questions are as follows: What (international) companies in Japan could be relevant for a software developer-position?
Is the Japanese market for software development very saturated? (I've heard mention of this from some people)

What would you need to even apply to the big 4 there?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
